The Pace of Play Returns as Madelia Golf Course Reopens
June 26, 2025
True golfers know the importance of maintaining the pace of play per round. Well, after replacing the Clubhouse with a temporary solution, drying out the landscape from the anniversary of the 100-year flood, and the annual community cleanup, golfers and caddies can return to tending the flag and more in multiple rounds as the Madelia Golf Course reopens Friday, June 27th!
The first tournament will be on July 13th, during the Park Days weekend.
Once scheduled to reopen for Memorial Day Weekend, Madelia Golf Course wanted to ensure an ongoing positive experience for all its members. Therefore, extending the closing period was necessary. As of this Friday, members can start their summer on the beautiful greens and get in their daily steps while enjoying a round or two of the sport they love most!
Madelia Golf Course Reopens
The Madelia area community has been unifying its efforts to clean up the Madelia Golf Course lush greens and provide a temporary Clubhouse since the flooding and damage caused by June’s 100-year flood. The transition from open to closed wasn’t easy and put many at a disadvantage. Employees were unemployed, and the activity of various golf leagues ceased, resulting in decreased community gatherings. Well, all of that ends this Memorial Day Weekend.
The temporary Clubhouse provides ample outside seating and limited food and beverage options. The landscape is lush and ready for tees, irons, carts, and walks. Staff have been hired and rehired to assist members and leagues with their golf course needs. All that’s missing are the members, visitors, and the following leagues and organizations:
- Madelia Alumni Association
- Men’s Golf League
- Women’s Golf League
- Madelia High School
- Madelia Health Hospital and Clinics
- Madelia Chamber of Commerce
To welcome everyone back to the tee box, fairway, and green, Madelia Golf Course is offering discounted memberships for the season. Family rates are available, and single rates are based on age. Go to Madelia Golf Course to learn more, or stop by City Hall to sign up.
