Get Outside & Play
The Madelia area is an incredible place to visit or live if you are an outdoor enthusiast. As a destination for pheasant, deer, and duck hunting, we draw hunters in search of fun times with family and friends. Our Madelia Sportsman’s Club welcomes them and is a great group to join if you’re looking for friends who also enjoy outdoor activities.
Madelia area is also an excellent place to fish, with the Watonwan River running along the edge of town. Here you can reel in walleye, northern pike, and catfish. Plus, Lake Hanska is just 10 miles away and is known for being the best lake to catch walleye.
We also showcase unmatched baseball and softball programs experiencing a resurgence of excellence thanks to superior leadership and dedicated coaching volunteers. The Madelia Baseball and Softball Association boasts the lowest participation fee in the area, new uniforms for the softball teams, and 75% new equipment, all in 2022. These tremendous attributes resulted in the Junior Legion Baseball Team’s Sub-District 2nd Place finish, a 20 percent increase in softball participation paving the way for a season finale win in the consolation bracket, as well as multiple championship finals participants amongst the younger teams.
Golf enthusiasts can enjoy either our traditional golf course or the nearby frisbee golf course.
When it snows, it’s time to pull out the snowmobile. Joining the SnoHawks Snowmobile Club ensures you’ll always have someone to chase the powder with.
